We’re seeking an Associate Director, Survey Operations & Analytics to join us in continuously raising the bar to do just that.
The Opportunity & Role
As Associate Director, Survey Operations & Analytics, you will lead end-to-end execution of quantitative survey projects from scoping to delivery. You will own vendor and fieldwork strategy, advise on sampling plans and questionnaire development, program complex survey instruments, and turn raw data into analysis-ready datasets. You will also be a trusted partner to client teams, advising on research design and analytics.
You will partner closely with Client Leads, Quant Analytics, and Project Operations, bringing calm authority, impeccable quality standards, and proactive communication.
What You’ll Do
- Collaborate with client leads to refine research designs and sampling plans, selecting the most effective analytical approaches to solve complex client challenges.
- Own technical survey programming for complex instruments; lead QA and test plans.
- Lead fieldwork management and vendor strategy; set SLAs, monitor incidence, cost, timelines, and sample quality.
- Transform raw data into clean, interpretable formats for analysis, and partner with the client teams to validate all quantitative inputs, ensuring the final narrative is supported by precise, reliable data.
- Collaborate with the Director of Advanced Analytics to deploy advanced methodologies, including discrete choice modeling (Conjoint, MaxDiff), latent class segmentation, TURF, and key driver analysis.
- Develop and standardize operational SOPs for programming, data processing, and analytics; Suggest and implement new workflows to maximize efficiency.
What You’ll Need
- Degree in a quantitative field or related discipline.
- 5+ years vendor-side survey operations and analytics experience spanning survey design, programming, fieldwork management, and data processing.
- Proficiency in a statistical programming language or package like R, SPSS, or Q/DisplayR.
- Proficiency programming complex surveys in programs like Qualtrics or Decipher/Forsta.
- Familiarity with advanced analytics approaches such as discrete choice modeling (Conjoint, MaxDiff), latent class segmentation, TURF, and key driver analysis. Experience with Sawtooth Software a plus.
- Exceptional attention to detail and documentation discipline; reproducible workflows and version control.
- Clear communication with clients and internal stakeholders; confident translating technical details into business implications for non-technical audiences.

In order to comply with equal pay and salary transparency laws in various locations, we believe the target range of base compensation in all locations within the United States for this role is $80,000 – $115,000 USD. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and location.
Location
US-based, remote position with work-from-home flexibility 4–5 days per week. Strong preference for candidates in the Washington, DC or New York, NY metropolitan areas. Those based in DC or NYC meet in person for one full work week per month in a co-working office for strategic and collaborative work.
